This Masquerade
Engaging dialogue sometimes still occurs on FB.
I Posted, as a Comment, one of my favorite quotes, and guides through life:
"It is better to die on your feet than live on your knees."
--Emiliano Zapata
______________
Which brought the following reply:
mejor vivir de pie qué morir arrodillado. Better to live standing then die on your knees. Not exactly the same.
______________
To which I responded:
You may well be correct on the translation. I run into that a lot. I wonder how much of our religions, and “histories”, have been altered, by error or by design, due to “translations”.
That said, I much prefer the translation version that I Posted.
Millions lined up for the CV1984 jab. Millions Passed, some immediately, others over the past four years. Millions are significantly and/or permanently disabled, and some engage in a masquerade by calling those “side effects”. Many millions now “live” in a box, or on their knees.
______________
Google Translate gives a slightly different--and interesting--variant:
“It is better to live standing than to die kneeling”
