Lara Parker, who played the witch Angelique on "Dark Shadows", has Passed.
There are very definite benefits to growing old with one's faculties intact, and I tend to emphasize the positives of perspective and recollection without being dependent on algorithms and so-called search engines.
The downside, of course, is seeing people Pass that brought joy to your life. Last week it was Mark Goddard. Today we learn that Lara Parker had Passed one day earlier.
Lara was thoroughly delightful as the witch Angelique, alongside vampire Barnabas Collins. How in the world could Barnabas go after the rather bland incarnations of Josette when Angelique was so...everything?!? Ok, a little naughty, some would say evil, but every rose has a few thorns, right? And life certainly wouldn't be boring with Angelique...
The casts of "Dark Shadows" and "Lost In Space" were old-school in the highest sense. Perhaps they had occasional disagreements, but unlike the modern denizens of Pedowood, they didn't have mudfights in public, and were always gracious and generous with their fans. Keeping us young "just a little bit longer".
Thank you, Lara, for the smiles and for the memories.
