Too many times, I see people telling us they have evidence they are going to release on a certain date but they die before that ever happens...so a word to the wise...

Sometimes that's part of the Op. The announcement is made, they're offed (maybe or maybe not in reality), sending the message that it's best to be silent, thus intimidating others.
