FREE Kindle eBook - "Up from Slavery" by Booker T. Washington
I enjoy finding old books that reflect the priorities and perspectives of the time. We all have limited time, and thus find ourselves relying, sometimes too much, on contemporary researchers who have access to materials not generally available when the source documents were prepared. The drawback is that they may bring in their contemporary 20-20 hindsight, at the price of historical accuracy.
From the Free Booksy email list, a FREE Kindle eBook, "Up from Slavery" by Booker T. Washington
The "Free" part should be good for at least all of today, Sunday, March 19, 2023. But whether today or tomorrow, double-check and make sure the price is still in fact FREE.
From the Publisher's description:
Born into slavery on a tobacco farm in nineteenth-century Virginia, Booker T. Washington became one of the most powerful intellectuals of the Reconstruction Era. In Up from Slavery, Washington speaks frankly and honestly about his enslavement and emancipation, struggle to receive an education, and life’s work as an educator.
