We start off this episode with Jason Prall, who sets the stage by discussing the nuanced roles of various diets. He shows us how they can be therapeutic tools that are tailored to individual health needs and imbalances:
“When it comes to these very specific diets, vegetarian or vegan-type diets, raw stuff. To me, these are all therapeutic. So they can be as therapeutic tools in an unwell body.
If a person is experiencing this type of imbalance, then you eat these types of foods. If somebody is constitutionally this way and they have this type of imbalance, then you lean more towards these foods. So this is how I think about diet. If I had cancer, I would lean more towards plants. I would lean more towards plants that are easy to digest, so in other words, I would tend to cook them in a very gentle way.”

Next up, we hear from Dr. Gabriel Cousins, who speaks on exactly what you can do to prevent cancer, using fasting and plant-based eating!:
“So the first thing I think about is let's prevent this as much as we can. So, I suggest that people obviously go for organic food. I suggest that people try to live a more healthy lifestyle. One of the things in my research, I found that if people fast for a week, twice a year–we have fasted, we do this at least twice a year–you clear out a lot of the toxins that have accumulated over the past 3 to 6 months. So we're always doing a thing of cleaning the system and getting the toxins out so we minimize our toxic load. What I discovered in my research is that two 7-day fasts are good.
We explored four 7-day fasts and six 7-day fasts. It appears in terms of time and effort, that two 7-day fasts are very preventive for getting out of this, minimizing the toxic overload from the earth, the air, and the water. So that's a really important thing. The diet I mentioned is at least an 80% vegan organic diet and a live food diet. The vegan life actually gives you a lot of energy and again, decreases the tendency for cancer. And there are some clinics that really do a very strong life with diet as part of their cancer protocols. So, my focus is more on prevention rather than the treatment.”

Brenda Davis joins us to give us a clear view of just how many of us are NOT consuming the recommended amount of nutritious food. She says:
“It's really consistent that Western diets, rich and ultra-processed foods, refined sugars, red meat, and they're low in vegetables, fruits, and other whole plant foods are associated with suppressed immunity, increased inflammation, dysbiosis, and all of those factors that drive diseases. And when you look at, for example, the consumption of whole fruits and vegetables, it's definitely under 10% of the population that actually meets recommended intakes. We're not talking necessarily about optimal intakes, we're just talking about recommended intakes. And so, it's just very concerning.”

We also get to hear from the incredible Dr. Daniel Nuzum, who explains how blood testing for nutritional deficiency often doesn´t show the true deficiency until it's already very bad. And how our Standard American Diet is wreaking havoc on our bodies!:
“Guess what isn't being taught in medical schools anymore? There's not a medical doctor who could diagnose a nutritional deficiency disease without doing a specific lab test for specific nutrients. They can't even recognize that anymore. They're not taught how to recognize that. It is not even taught in chiropractic and naturopathic medical schools anymore. They're just taught to rely on the lab work and the lab work, to tell you the truth, your blood is the last place a disease shows up because blood doesn't have very wide parameters. The road your blood travels is a very narrow one and it can't go to the left or the right very far at all.
So the last place that a disease will show up is in your blood because your blood is the most prized and protected fluid in your body. Therefore, by the time something shows up on a blood test, it is really bad. So tissue degeneration happens long before blood degeneration happens. Where am I going with all this? Well, a standard American diet only supplies between 20% and 30% of those recommended daily allowance of vitamins and minerals.”
