Beam The Entirely Useless Up, Scotty
The European Union (EU), fittingly referred to as “Entirely Useless”, needs to be beamed up and transported to empty deep space. While at times appearing to be laying the groundwork for world government, in recent years it has become a parody.
William Shatner, a/k/a and forever to be known as Captain Kirk, took on the latest EU absurdity:
The UK Sun tends to emphasize its print publication, so the article shown by Shatner does not appear to be available online—at least not for free. You can find a version of it here:
WHAT THE TREK?! EU chiefs target ban on gendered phrases including iconic movie quotes
The Western Journal has a good recap of the farce, with references to additional material:
William Shatner Levels Government Censors Trying to Ban Iconic 'Star Trek' Line
Such as the article from the UK Daily Mail:
EU calls for 'gendered language' to be banned, with phrases such as 'no man's land' or 'Joe Public' axed... and 'king and queen' phrased 'queen and king' to put the female first
As Voltaire observed, “Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities.”
One has to wonder, how many truly believe the absurdities of our times, and how many are just paid actors and chaos agents?
